CATEGORY: KN | Kitsune Noir The Desktop Wallpaper Project featuring Jez Burrows

Manischewitz, it’s already Wednesday. This week is flying by and it’s only going to get better with the addition of this new desktop wallpaper. This week’s Desktop Wallpaper Project contributor is a guy named Jez Burrows. You might remember Jez as one of the co-creators of the book We Are The Friction that I posted about a couple months back. He’s also a fantastic designer and just recently updated his online portfolio, so be sure to check it out.

For this week’s wallpaper he’s put together a simple and beautiful piece consisting of a small town with a red string making it’s way all around it. It’s a really elegant design that should only boost your creativity throughout the day. Also, If you’re an iPhone owner I’d suggest downloading the corresponding version, it’s pretty rad.

CATEGORY: KN | Kitsune Noir seek&speak

I was browsing the portfolio of Ben Schaefer, aka seek&speak, and came across these imaginary covers he did for Blu-Ray versions of movies. The point was to distill the films into a simple image, showing only the basic components of these movies. I love that he chose to go with black, white and gray, as obviously you don’t even need colors for these and they look amazing all together. Be sure to check out the rest of his work as well, I’m sure you’ll recognize some of his movie posters as well.

BTEK is an interpretation centre for new technologies, aimed at student visitors.

The Centre’s promoter, Parque Tecnológico, S.A., (Technology Park) set out the following as the most important guidelines:

  • Create a very flexible and varied exhibition space, able to accommodate all types of exhibitions.
  • Installations should be highly energy efficient (geothermal systems for climate control) and that use renewable energy sources (a building-integrated photovoltaic system connected to a 60kw network).
  • The geometry of the covering where the solar panels are integrated should be triangular—similar to the shape of Technology Park’s logo.

The site’s location, on one of the highest points of the Vizcaya Technology Park and close to the Bilbao airport’s flight path for takeoffs and landings, helps with the aim of making the building a landmark in its landscape.
